Accessible Use of Color Training

June 26 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

This training provides practical guidance on how to use color accessibly by applying WCAG 2.1 requirements in higher education instructional, web, and communication contexts. It explains why color should support meaning, not carry meaning alone, and walks faculty and staff through common accessibility barriers involving contrast, links, forms, dashboards, charts, graphics, slides, documents, and digital communications.

By the end of the training, participants will understand when color use creates an accessibility barrier, how to evaluate text and non-text contrast, how to avoid relying on color alone in data visualizations and status indicators, and what steps they can take to ensure their digital content is clear, usable, and compliant.
